House of Zolo Editor-in-Chief, Erika Steeves, talks with Author and Artist JE Solo about their new book "Nature, Human", and about Artificial Intelligence, technology, and the future.

JE Solo is a writer, performance and media artist, and musician best known for their work in East Coast music, and as a trailblazer in machinima, hybrid-reality, and live and networked performance art.

JE’s first novel, Phreak (House of Zolo, 2020), was short-listed for the Writer’s Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador’s 2017 Fresh Fish Award, and is the Write Project’s 2020 Book of the Year.

House of Zolo is an independent Canadian publisher founded in 2019 to promote writers of speculative literature, to raise the profile of speculative literature worldwide, and to offer readers powerful, forward-thinking stories and poetry. House of Zolo is committed to publishing excellent speculative writing by today’s most compelling authors.

HOZ publishes literature with a special interest in speculative fiction, short story and poetry. We look for character driven stories that push against convention; we like fresh perspectives and provocative ideas that reimagine the world and our place in it.

House of Zolo was created by a small collective of writers and editors who wanted to offer more space and profile for speculative literature.
